“The Hudson Miracle” Plane Crash: happy endings DO happen!

Ok, THAT was my worst nightmare. And also my happiest ending. Like, whaaaat? A plane crashes in the Hudson River and everyone survives? How in the world did that happen? It's too good to be true. But it's TRUE!

So, #1: can I please book every future flight with Capt. "Sully"? But he's probably retiring now. He's probably set for life and won't have to work another day. But still…a girl can dream.

#2: Chivalry lives! The women and children were out first. In 2009. In post-feminist America. Women and children first. Dude. Can you believe this? I'm so happy right now I feel like dropping my hanky in the street just to see if a man picks it up. Not that I carry a hanky.

#3: Best happy news story in a reeeeeally long time. And we totally needed it.

Wow. Life is good.

Have a happy weekend, everybody!

Wow, I stumbled across your blog, with this post, literally just before it came on the radio over here in the UK.

It’s an absolutely amazing story – really does make you think that life is good. There will be so many families rejoicing today :)

Did you hear about the woman that insisted on taking her luggage with her? The man being interviewed said that her luggage is floating down the Hudson.

Was flipping through channels on the Noon news.

One station newscaster called it the Hudson Miracle, using the word miracle and referred several times to God.

The other station newscaster kept saying “luck of the gods” and the like.

    Interesting.

Living right next to the Hudson River and seeing the live footage, I automatically thought it was another terrorist attack…I am so thankful to God that it wasn’t and that the pilot did such an amazing job of safely guiding the plane down and then to see the incredible rescue of ALL the passengers! GOD IS GOOD!!

Wayne’s a pilot and said over and over, “This is impossible! How did he land the plane without it breaking up?” He later said, “Something happened out there that was miraculous. I just doesn’t happen that way.” I kept thanking God for his blessings on that plane. For them AND for us.
