THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST, vol.1, issue 1

First-saturdays2

                            Welcome to
T
HE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST!

This is where bloggers gather on the first Saturday of each month to share their latest and greatest blog posts! This month we're featuring posts from AUGUST '09!

I'll begin by sharing my post: There's A Rat In My House! I chose this post because it was such a funny incident and I'm sure our kids will be talking about it for years to come. I also think it highlights the friendly joking and camaraderie I share with my husband. We make each other laugh. A good sense of humor is super helpful when you're raising a big ol' pack of kids!

Now, I'd love to hear from YOU! Choose one post from your past month of blogging: a recipe, an inspiring story, a photo, a sad story, a piece of art. THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST is a celebration of art, so please no links to products or giveaways. Thanks!

I'll leave this post up all weekend long so you'll have a chance to come back and read some of the other submissions, too.

Here's how to participate:

  1. pick one of YOUR posts from the past month and insert a link to it in The Mister Linky form here on my blog (remember to provide a direct link to your specific post, not just your home page).
  2. compose a new post at your site encouraging your readers to come check out the other great submissions and maybe explaining why you chose to highlight a particular post.

I'm really looking forward to reading your posts and getting to know each of you a little more! ENJOY!

bah! I put the wrong link in mine! I linked to the “Saturday Evening Blog Post” instead of THE post…. though the correct link is in that post. Sorry ’bout that.

Thanks for hosting! I have a question– when you say you’ll leave this up all weekend, do you mean this post and all its links will disappear after that? Why not leave them on your blog?

    This should be fun

Rachel: Sorry for the confusion! I just meant that I won’t be posting until Monday, so THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST will be at the top of my home page all weekend. Of course, the links will remain, too. Thanks! :)

I won’t lie. It was an agonizing decision since I just started my new blog this month and of all *3* posts I have successfully written, this one was my favorite. To be fair, even if my blog were truly established, I still might have picked this one … because it’s funny and it’s a glimpse into my everyday. Welcome!

Just a note: if you don’t see your link, it’s because the link didn’t work properly. Please feel free to try again! And thank you for your patience as I try to work out all the kinks!

Thanks for hosting this. I am not very technologically skilled. I am now going to do the next step of making a link to my site — assuming that what I did just now worked. (May come and holler for help — as I said, this is all pretty new to me — but it is a great idea and assuming I can learn what to do, I will be back to do it on Saturday evenings!)

Oh, also, I am in Korea right now which is a day ahead, so I am calculating Saturday night as PDT, which is where my home (i.e. family) is and where I am when I am not gallivanting.

Thanks for hosting. :) I chose the post “What I have learned” because it just seems to sum up what’s going on so well.

Ugh! Put my screen name in there the title should have been.
Link #50 s/b entitled “Effects of the Son”

I just found you via Conversion Diary, where I had been sad to have missed Jenifer’s carnival last week.

I chose my post (51) because it was one of my favorite parts of a recent trip to Ireland: quality conversations between Catholics, Protestants and atheists in my recent Greek course. This conversation was particularly memorable.

What a great idea! I put up a post that just makes me smile – one of those ‘kids do crazy things’ kind of posts.

  • http://mothersalways.blogspot.com Being Me

Superb idea, to share and meet more bloggers. I picked this POST, because I need a reminder every now & then when we get the itch for new things. Thank you.
