 Welcome to
 THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST!

This is where bloggers gather on the first Saturday of the month to share their latest and greatest blog posts. This month we're featuring posts from January 2010!

I'll begin by sharing my favorite post from last month: A Conversation with Frank Schaeffer, author of "Crazy for God." I chose this post because Frank's book was so helpful to me in understanding The Religious Right and the affect it had on my own fundamentalist childhood. Chatting with Frank was an enlightening, informative and indeed, affirming experience.

Now it's YOUR TURN!

Here's how to participate:

  1. pick one of YOUR posts from the past month and insert a link to it in The Mister Linky form here on my blog (remember to provide a direct link to your specific post, not your home page).
  2. compose a new post at your site with a link back here so your readers can participate, too. The more the merrier–it's always fun to discover new blogs!

THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST is a celebration of family-friendly art, so please no links to products or giveaways. I'm looking forward to reading your submissions! Enjoy!

DRAT! My link is NOT Dec and 2009 — sorry about that! I’m having serious technical difficulties these days.

I chose a post inspired by coffee and the fact that, no matter how much I like a praise song, I can’t resist parodying it. There are links so you can listen to the original songs if you don’t know them.

Thanks again for this great opportunity! I enjoyed a brilliant day in the embrace of God’s love this past month, and I chose to return to that precious moment!

Thank you, Elizabeth! I barely squeezed mine in last month but I made it! I chose a very sensitive topic . . .

After considering several alternatives, I picked a post from my series on “For the Life of the World” in which I reflected on the way we approach life and death today in our culture. Thanks for hosting this again, Elizabeth.

    Hey Elizabeth,
This is my first time at Saturday Evening Post — thanks for this great opportunity!

I’m going to have to bop back a little later to read your post and some others, because my little guy is dying to play Go Fish! Must run and fish!

Hi! I’ve been reading your blog for a month now and love it! I write a lot about spiritual abuse in my past, but there were many good things too. So I chose a entry that tells about one of the good things. Thanks for hosting this! There’s tons of good reading here….
