Welcome to THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST!
This is where bloggers gather on the first Saturday of each  month
to share their latest and greatest blog posts!
This month we're featuring our favorite posts from March and April.
Yes, this means you can post TWO links! YAY!

 ::

I'll begin by sharing my two favorite posts. March was a very difficult month for me. However, sometimes difficult seasons of life help clarify future choices. This is what happened when I finally realized why I'm probably a bad candidate for homeschooling.  In April, I finally admitted to myself (and you) that I'm burned out and am losing the joy of mothering. I chose these posts because I think they mark a positive change in my willingness to be honest with myself and others. From the overwhelming response, I can sense that my being real with you helped you feel safe to be real with yourself, too. And that makes me so happy because we're building a little supportive community, here. YAY!

::

Now it's YOUR TURN!

Here's how to participate:

  1. pick one of YOUR posts from the past month. Insert a link to that specific post (not just your home page) in The Mister Linky form here on my blog.
  2. compose a new post at your site with a link back here so your readers can participate, too. The more the merrier–it's always fun to discover new blogs!

THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST is a celebration of family-friendly art, so please no links to products or giveaways. I'm looking forward to reading your submissions! Enjoy!

    I know you are saying that we can post two links, but I am sticking with this one. I hope folks might take a look at March posts too, but I really like the fact that this recent post engaged people. Thanks for hosting EE!

    I’m posting one link from April, but I mention how I struggled to pick just one in the Saturday Evening Blog Post post I just published on my blog. For a variety of reasons, the post I chose was both a challenge to write and particularly meaningful to me.

    I just rounded them all up in the one post, EE. Hope that’s okay? Glad you’re keeping this going – I love to read through and find new friends.

    I posted a TMI Tuesday link from April about the Trials and Tribulations haha of finding good nursing apparel. Thanks for hosting the party!

    I posted my engagement story. I wrote it out as a letter to my mom who passed away four months ago.

    I’m posting about how God just continues to shape my heart through the relationships around me.

    G’day.
    As per those above, I’m linking to one post here, but on that post I link to my two favourites. That works, eh?

    I’ve had fun reading everyone’s posts so far. Thanks for hosting Elizabeth! (btw, this is how I originally found your site)

    Since I just started my blog, I feel pretty silly about what I have to share, but I’m done with sitting back because I feel silly.

    Have a great weekend!

    Hi -

    I chose to post two posts because I think they were both current and – for vastly different reasons – important. The first refers to a priest who exemplifies the giving spirit of our Lord, and the second shows someone whose decisions have some terrible ramifications. I hope you’ll read them both, and I thank you for hosting this Saturday Evening Blog Post.

    Elizabeth, this is such a good idea. It is a worthwhile exercise for me to look over a whole month’s posts, weigh them against each other, and choose one to highlight. It is sort of “if you had to choose only one…”

    For March I went with a post I did on a myth – that we worship Saints. For April I chose my explanation of the Mass. As a recent convert myself, my blog is generally focused toward non-Catholics who have an interest in Catholicism.

    Thank you for organizing this.

    Thank you for hosting this. I just went back and reread your linked posts. Thank you for your honesty. I don’t comment much (I need to work on that!) but you’ve helped me so much more than you could imagine over the past month or so, in working on letting go of that unattainable “Super-Mommy” ideal, and to be more honest with myself as well.

    Elizabeth,

    I’m fairly new to your blog, but have been so moved by your recent posts sharing the fragile time you’ve had recently.

    I can so completely relate to your experience– my break down/break through came after my second one..reading your posts I can’t keep the tears from streaming down, it feels so incredible to know others have felt the lows (not happy you are feeling the lows, but find comfort in the connection) and seeing what the Lord is doing in your life an heart.

    He is caring for His precious daughter and building you up in wisdom and strength. Isn’t it amazing to know there is a bigger plan. My prayers are with you that you feel deeply His love every step of the way!

    Blessings,
    Lisa

    I read all the time but rarely comment. I had my own mama-breakdown about a year and a half ago. So much of what you say reminds me of that time (though I only had two children, not five). In the end, mine made me a better mother, though that seemed impossible at the time. Thanks for your honesty.

    And thanks for hosting the carnival.
