THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST, vol. 3, issue 1

Welcome to the SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST!
This is where bloggers gather on the first Saturday of each month to share
their favorite post from the past month. Since we skipped January,
I’d love for you to share TWO posts this month:
one from December 2010 AND
one from January 2010.

: :

I’ll begin by sharing two of my favorite posts. From December, I chose To Your Own Parenting Self Be True because I think it expresses how far I’ve come in my parenting journey. From January, I chose a humorous piece: Anatomy of a Man-Cold.

Now, it’s your turn! Here’s how to participate:

  1. Pick one of YOUR posts from the last month. Insert that specific post (not your home page) into the Linky form here.
  2. Create a new post on your blog linking back here and encouraging your readers to come join the fun! It’s always wonderful to meet new bloggers.

The Saturday Evening Blog Post is a celebration of family-friendly art and writing. Please no links to products or giveaways. Thank you.

I took the approach of putting links to my chosen posts for both months in one post on my blog and then added the one link to that post to Mr. Linky. I had my version of fun writing the series on ancient texts and my post on Mary, the Theotokos is personally meaningful to me.

These last two months have been more blog productive than I had thought. I eventually chose a photo essay on January in Vancouver and my post on Magic, Maps, and Mystery in the fantasy genre. I chose these largely because of the amount of attention they received, so make sure (if you do look) that you read the comments.

Thank you Elizabeth for this wonderful gathering space. I was a little worried after the new year, but am happy to see the tradition continue!

I cheated a little, b/c I had two really good things in January and I spent all of December focused on Advent. Glad to be participating again in the new year!

Drat! I hate when I put a typo in my linky! It’s supposed to say “Bringing up the REAR as Mom of the Year” Grrr. :P

Thanks for doing this again, Elizabeth! For December, I chose a post about learning to overcome self-loathing and accepting my post-three-babies body. For January, I linked to the post I wrote on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, about my own decision to continue with an unplanned, out-of-wedlock pregnancy and the great blessings that resulted.

Happy New Year to you! I hope this year brings you many blessings.

Linking up for the first time, Elizabeth. I’m the kind of girl who’s always charging ahead so thanks for the inspiration to take a quick look back!
