THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST! vol. 4, issue 1

Welcome to THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST!
I’m your hostess, Elizabeth Esther.

This is where bloggers gather on the first Saturday of the month
to share their latest and greatest blog posts.

This month we’re sharing our favorite post from December 2011!

I’ll begin. I’m sharing my post “The ‘telos’ of God, the ‘telos’ of me.” I chose this post because one of the most enlightening things for me is understanding Scripture in a new way. Every time a piece of Scripture is redeemed from misunderstanding and misinterpretation, I am filled with such hope. This post was especially meaningful to me since it encouraged you, too.

Now, it’s your turn! Here’s how to participate:

  1. Pick one of YOUR posts from the last month.
  2. Insert the link to that specific post(not your home page) into the Linky form here.
  3. Spread the word. Share The Saturday Evening Blog Post on Facebook, Tweet about it, or write a new post on your blog encouraging your readers to come join the party! The more the merrier! It’s always fun to “meet” new bloggers.

The Saturday Evening Blog Post is a celebration of family-friendly art and writing. Please no links to products or giveaways. Thank you.

Thanks, as always, for hosting this Elizabeth!

I linked to the post that I wrote for Christmas eve. I was planning to let the couple of weeks around Christmas pass without any new posts, but that one felt like it needed to be written, in the midst of all of the crazy.

    I love this round-up!

I didn’t even link to my own blog!  My favorite post from last month was a guest post I wrote for Introverted Church.

Some music for you, a new arrangement of “Away in a Manger” I did for my church choir this Christmas, with some interruptions by babies which were quite appropriate.

Oh, if these posts (and/or their comments!) are half as good as yours, I’m going to have some very enjoyable reading ahead of me. :)  This is my first time linking up; thanks for hosting!

I am sharing a post from my ‘Baptist Taliban and Beyond’ blog about my conclusion to a dilemma I faced personally after leaving the BT church.  It was how to treat the “fornicators”.  A very difficult subject for me at the time, but one for which I sincerely believe I have found the truth.

Thanks for hosting this. Sounds like so much fun. I shared a stream of consciousness post about the stigma surrounding photographing stillborn/deceased/dying babies and children.

Thanks for hosting this! I missed it last month :) .

  • priest’s wife

I guess I didn’t blog a lot during December because the post I picked was a downer…not a lot to choose from- better luck next month! :)

It’s like a bloggers dinner party, but without dinner.

I’m feeling a little bit sycophantic by linking a post written about your appearance on AC, but whatev.  It’s the one I most like!

    Thanks for hosting!

While it has been a long time since I have linked-up, I do so enjoy reading everyone’s posts. I didn’t write a whole lot in December, but it was due to my attachment to some perfect Christmas image. I so needed to write this one.

I am so grateful for all that you have done to advocate for Godly relationships!  <3  Thank you for your courage in speaking up for the least of these.   I am honored to participate!

Like Ross & Rachel, I was on a break in December. The post I linked (it shows up as “RandomlyChad”) was written for Adam McHugh, but as I was late in getting it to him, he was unable to use it. So I emailed it to some of my favorite bloggers–calling the email a “Blog Cold Call.” Though I felt the post was good, I half expected no response. Very shortly, I’d gotten two replies; the first of which was from Tamara Lunardo (tamaraoutloud), indicating that not only would she run it, she would do so within two days! (I sent the email on a Wednesday, she ran the post that Friday). Honestly, this couldn’t have come at a better time for me, as I was in a season of reevaluating who I was as a blogger, and indeed as a person. It was a real shot in the arm! It felt like Christmas had come early. Hope you like the post, which is called “What Is Peace?”

When some buddies and I are surfing and someone catches the wave of the day we call it “Cha!” Today you get the “blog-cha!” for such a great idea.

Hi Elizabeth, I happened upon your site from Alise Wright.  It’s nice to meet you and thank you for allowing me to submit my poem in the mix.  Take care.

I’ve been very much less than healthy for several years and this last six months have been practically bedridden.  I was very excited to have been able to produce a complete meal from start to finish even with garnishes and homemade tortilla chips all by myself–no having to stop halfway through for a nap, no delegating tasks to my less-than-qualified-as-sous-chefs family, no blowing the whole thing off as a fantasy meal.

  • http://www.malisaprice.com Malisa Price

Thanks for hosting this link up! What a great idea.

  • http://quietanthem.blogspot.com/ Renee Ronika Klug

I linked my post about my faith in response to a reader’s comment on a previous blog post. I picked the Jesus post over my 5th wedding anniversary post–it wasn’t an easy decision. ;)

I’m new to your blog (linked by Dulce de Leche). Will be perusing…

Woops, I entered my name, not the title of my post, which is  T’is the Night Before (A Children’s Story). Great linky. Thanks! http://lisamckaywriting.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/tis-the-night-before/

First-time poster. It’s December, right? Figured I should link to the Christmassy post. Thanks for the opportunity!

Thank you for hosting!  I am a little late to the party, but I finally decided to link a reflection on an Advent homily.  Have a blessed Sunday!

Hi! Alyce Wright mentioned your site on FB, and I decided to come over and join the party. I recognized your name from the Not Alone book (I was a contributor, too) and it’s good to see how social your blog is.
