THE SATURDAY EVENING BLOG POST, vol. 4, issue 6

Welcome to SEBP! I’m your hostess, Elizabeth Esther.
This is where bloggers gather on the first Saturday of the month to share their
favorite post from the previous month.
Today we’re sharing posts from May 2012!

I’ll begin by sharing my favorite post: “Indwelling my Words.” I chose this because it was a post that sprang from a deep insight I had after learning I didn’t have breast cancer.

Now it’s your turn! Here’s how to participate:

    1. Choose your favorite post from May 2012 and paste that specific link (not a link to your blog’s home page) into the form below.
    2. Tweet about this linkup! Share it on Facebook! It’s always fun to “meet” new bloggers–the more the merrier.

It’s amazing how much easier it is to choose a great post when you only write about 7. :)

I wrote a meditation about true love that was inspired by a homily given by our parish priest.

As always, thank you, Elizabeth, for hosting this event!  I am never able to read everyone’s submission, but I systematically read many by choosing a number and reading any post that is a multiple of that number!  And if time permits, I read others, too.  There are lots of interesting posts every month.

I picked a post from my intermittent, but ongoing series on why I am not an atheist.

  • Tifanni

Our family is moving to Haiti, and my post is comparing American poverty to third world poverty. Thanks again for hosting EE :)

Wow, I’m late to the party this time, but that seems to be okay.

The post I linked from last month is about how Promise Keepers Hurt My Marriage.

Those of you have been around Christian circles for a while remember Promise Keepers?
Yeah, it turns out that one of the promises that they wanted to keep was a promise to lord over their wives.

I’m sorry I ever sent my husband to one of their conventions.

My favorite post from last month is about mindfulness and being open to the moment (hence the title).

  • http://narrativeheiress.blogspot.com/ Ashley Anderson

My post is “Worse First”. It’s about how things seem to take a plunge before they pick back up.

I used to have a blog, for about a year and a half, then spontaneously deleted it with its myriad posts – I know, right? whaaaat? So this is my new, barely started blog. I very much have been enjoying your blog – I found it when looking for fellow ENFP bloggers! :)

How much of what goes on in the Church and between Christians is really competition, even though it may not be acknowledged as such? I wrote about my desire to leave the competitive urge behind.

Excited to participate in this! I’m a new follower of your blog and loving it. :) My post’s the one on abortion, contraception and egocentrism. Something I’d been thinking a lot about the week I wrote it.

  • Devon Van Essen

I posted my favorite post this month from the ministry blog I’m a part of (La Capilla de la Gracia). It was written by one of our other contributors, but it’s so concise and lovely, I couldn’t resist. She wrote about the high school graduation of a young mother–the first in her family to graduate from high school.

  • Incongruous Circumspection

A Daddy’s Mistake is a little story about what happened on Memorial Day, 2012 while my lovely wife was gallivanting across the country.

I wrote about what “we” the parents of kids with special needs, wish “you” knew about our lives. It’s just a different journey.

I wrote snarkily about the whole “Defense of Marriage Act Thing” that just went down here in North Carolina. What fun!

  • Ellen Stumbo

First time I link up! Not sure if there is a “theme” for the posts, so I am sharing a letter I wrote to y daughter’s biological mother.

  • Laura

ooooh, this is a first for me, and i’m a little scared. but! bravery through faith, right? love you, lady. thanks for this opportunity.

  • Laura

also, just realized it was supposed to be from may 2012, but i haven’t blogged in AGES, so i just picked one of my favorite posts ever. hope that’s okay!

Hello!  Stumbled onto your blog quite “accidentally”… although I don’t really believe in accidents!  ;)   So I kept looking for this post and thought you might skip this month… then noticed tonight I had missed it LAST week!

So… sharing a little late, but a great crockpot recipe for all those who love their crockpots.  :)
