I sat in a coffee shop for three hours

I sipped lavender green tea. I chatted. Someone asked where I was going all dressed up and I said: Here, just here. Because I will wear my pretty clothes for no other reason than I like the feel of a crisp pencil skirt and the whimsical click of 4″ sequin heels. I will dither. I will “waste” time–with impunity.

Because, as Brene Brown says, “exhaustion is not a status symbol.”

And after sitting in the coffee shop for three hours? I went home and took a long nap.

I could get used to this whole resting thing.

This is just so smart. We’d be wise to learn from your example, even if some of us choose to sit and rest in sneakers.

I’m curious about what you’re dropping to make space in your life for so many hours of leisure? I ask because I’m feeling horribly overtaxed by life right now, and yet I’m not sure what I could really drop. Wondering how you figured that out.
