Look good, feel good #dressfortheday

About a month ago, I woke up and was all: yeah, I might feel like a wreck but I’m tired of looking like one, too.

I felt like a Slothalump.

I don’t know what a Slothalump is. I just made that up.

Point is, I was tired of looking like one.

So, I started dressing up every day.

Funny thing happened.

I started feeling better.

Hint: I wasn’t dressing up for my man. I was dressing up for myself.

Because it made me feel better.

“Where are you going?” my children asked.

“Nowhere. Just here.”

I shall go nowhere wearing red denim and a velvet coat!

Dress for the day you want to have, not the day that wants to have YOU!

love this! I always feel so much better when I dress to feel good, not for my husband, or for anyone else. Ironically so, my husband always loves what I wear, so I guess it’s a win/win!

Super cute! I hardly ever dress up when I’m not planning on leaving the house (that would be most days), but this made me think about it differently.

Hi Elizabeth – I’ve not been a commenter before but just have to speak up about all your recent posts. All I can say is yes, yes, yes and AMEN sister. You’re speaking such truth, courage, integrity and it’s so life giving. I’m being so enriched and encouraged by your posts – thank you.
I LOVE the post about Halloween – I’ve had to learn not to be ‘scared’ of Halloween as my son always goes to his dad’s on Halloween, dresses up as a vampire etc and I’ve had to let go of my fears knowing that if I outlaw any celebration of it, it will completely backfire on me as the years go by. It’s been good to face my fears and realise that Christ conquers it all and I have nothing to be afraid of.
    God bless, Lizzie

First time to your blog (came over from http://www.rageagainsttheminivan.com/2012/11/people-say-on-facebook-during-elections.html), started browsing and this post is EXACTLY what I needed today…. as I sit here in my work out clothes (even though I may not workout) and a hoodie. Thank you!
