"Mommy, what's wrong with your face?" Jude asks.

You mean, you can see the throbbing ball of pain behind my right eyeball? That's when I look in the mirror and realize I've been going around with one side of my face all squinched up like a scabby-eyed pirate.

Does stress do permanent damage? Just in case, I've quit packing and I'm paying our moving company to do the rest. I really need to survive this move. Even if all I have left is one good, working eyeball.
